Regarding the recent ruling surrounding the governor's executive orders, there are still many unknowns, however, masks are still required by players and spectators and all protocols put in place are still in effect unless we learn otherwise. We will continue to follow the direction of MAHA and inform the membership of any future changes.
All MAHL Families:
We are back!!! Your MAHL board has been working hard planning and organizing the start of the 2020/2021 season. Registration is open and we can’t wait to get going. This year will look different than any other in our history. Although ice hockey will run very close to normal the rules and restrictions below will be enforced and watched very closely. A lot of people have worked very hard getting our rinks opened and we do not want to jeopardize the progress we’ve made or the health and safety of our hockey families. Below are a few bullet points that will be new this season.
MAHA Return to Play Standards – Please visit www.maha.org to access all the rules required for the upcoming season. REQUIREMENTS MUST BE FOLLOWED!!!
Masks – Masks are mandatory for all people entering the facility and for all participants while on the ice. MAHA has recently allowed the Bauer bubble shield with the new Bauer splash guard. Anything else will need to be a traditional face covering.
Water Bottles – Every participant is responsible for their own water bottle. Please label accordingly. Consider a water bottle with a straw to make getting a drink easier.
Meetings & Team Parties – For now the MAHL will be discouraging face to face indoor meetings until further notice. This includes coach’s meetings, parent meetings, board meetings, and any in person meetings that are held indoors. We will conduct all meetings to start this year via Zoom and will be communicated through your email on file with us.
Coach’s & Team Managers – If you have not done so already please make sure anyone who is interested in coaching registers with MAHL and completes all necessary coaching requirements. Also please note that background checks are taking as long as 2 weeks.
Midland Civic Arena – While entering the rink this year there are a number of new protocols. Please follow them closely. These protocols are meant for the safety and wellbeing of our participants and our spectators. Some are listed below and please watch our website and your email for updates.
Past Due Payments – Any player with a past due amount must pay it in full before they will be allowed to take the ice this year. Anyone with questions needs to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
House Details/Draft Skates – On-ice activities for all house programs will be fairly consistent with last year. For 8U, an every other Friday skate has been added. Coaches will be promoting social distancing on-ice, while keeping players active and engaged at all times.
